Launching the Next Generation Satellite Ground System on Cloud Foundry and Microservices

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Like many technology companies, DigitalGlobe is driving to accelerate its pace of innovation. To that end it has been on a journey to implement Agile development and DevOps practices.

Recognizing that implementing microservices at scale brings with it a number of technical and cultural challenges, DigitalGlobe adopted Cloud Foundry to minimize the amount of "undifferentiated heavy lifting" that would have been involved in writing its own cloud-native development platform.

This presentation will summarize the architecture being implemented to support the next generation of satellite ground control applications and will cover some of the microservices implementation issues that were encountered.

It relate some of the "light bulb moments" encountered by developers and operations team members as they came face to face with the ways that CF takes "friction" out of the process.
