Over the next few years, Kroger aims to grow from 100B to 250B in revenue, and much of this will be fueled by software-driven efficiencies. After an assessment of Kroger platforms, many different stacks of technology were identified which required consolidation: Cloud Foundry provides an opportunity to define standard solutions, and implement them in an automated way. In this talk, James Masters and Ted Tollefson will tell us how they came to make the decision to use Pivotal Cloud Foundry, and what their experience has been in getting started.

Kroger
James has held multiple roles at Kroger over his 12 year tenure. He started at Kroger in the Information Security space, and moved into System Administration. James currently leads initiatives at Kroger around Virtualization, Cloud, and Automation, and has been doing so for over 5 years. Prior to Kroger, James was in Information Security at Fifth Third Bank, and System Administration at General Electric.

Software Architect, Kroger
Ted Tollefson has been a software architect for Kroger Co., a fortune 25 company, for the past 5 years. He has done JEE development for over 15 years. He has been actively engaged in cloud development efforts for the past 4 years.
